The Career Center is available to all students and parents on a drop-in basis or by appointment.

Career/College Exploration and Post-secondary Planning
The Career Center provides students and parents with various career and college services.  Students can research colleges and vocational programs, sign up for exams (SAT, ACT and community college assessments), receive help with college selection and applications and participate in numerous workshops to assist students with post-secondary planning. 
Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores and Freshmen may access grade-specific academic planning information on the website.

Other Assistance/Opportunities
Students may also receive assistance with exploring careers, and finding community service and summer enrichment opportunities.  Self-Directed Search (Career Assessments) are available for students interested in a paper/pencil career assessment.  The ASVAB (Military Entrance Exam/Career Assessment) is offered (no charge) at Oak Ridge High School in the Spring and is available to 10th, 11th & 12th grade students.

Speakers/Workshops/Programs

The Career Center sponsors several programs to assist students with college/career decisions including visits form college representatives, including ORHS Alumni (ORHS College Link Program), Financial Aid/Scholarship workshops, Community College Information Day and an annual Spring Career Fair.  Details for these programs will be made available on the Career Center Website as they become available.

Scholarships and Financial Aid
Students interested in financial aid and scholarships may pick up financial aid forms (FAFSA, GPA Verification and the CSS Profile in the center. Current scholarship applications are available in the
"scholarship box" and students and/or parents should drop by on a regualr basis to check for new applications. The list of available scholarships is also posted on the Career Center website Available Scholarships and on the El Dorado County Scholarship Website.   An Annual Scholarship Award Night is planned each spring to recognize the recipients of college-based and community scholarships. Resources

The Career Center allows students to check-out various resources including: 4 year, 2 year college catalogs and videos, career and vocational books, and military publications.

Online Career/College Research

Students may research career and college options at their own pace using the Bridges Website (ORHS Subscription)  Students nterested in accessing the website will first need to stop by the Career Center to obtain the ORHS
